Robert Lee Burley, 82, of Lynchburg, passed away Saturday, April 14, 2018 in Avante' of Lynchburg. He was the husband of the late Ruby Irene Burley.
Born in Amherst County, on December 1, 1935, he was a son of the late Scott N. Burley and Rosie D. Burley. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Johnnie N. Burley and Scott N. Burley, Jr.; three sisters, Nellie B. Bailey, Mildred B. Mayberry, and Estelle B. Creasey.
Robert retired from the Archer Creek Foundry with 23 years of service, was a member of Clifford Baptist Church and loved hunting and fishing.
He is survived by two sisters, Dorothy B. Johnson and Shirley B. Wheeler; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends Clayton and Phyllis Minnick who the family would like to thank for all the love and support they showed Robert.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2018 at Fort Hill Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. Michael Fitzgerald officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Shirley Wheeler.
