Hey Gloria, it's been over two months since your passing and I'm missing those daily morning updates on the Phillies.  No matter what their record you sure were a staunch supporter.  I felt sure you had another ten good years, I'm sorry to you and yours for your sudden passing.  It was too soon and so not necessary.
I also miss those dinner time stories, when you were a little girl eating ice cream while sitting on the radiator, your Dad driving to Atlantic City in the middle of the winter for a Sunday meal with your family (no heat the the rear seat of the car), your brother Bud, your Dad's heart attacks, your Mom's cooking, Mary's eloping off with Jack, Lorna and Alan, visits from your Grandmother from St Louis Missouri, some distant past relatives, the Minister from North Dakota and another from Russia.  The struggles after WWII, apartments with no kitchens, appliance and automobile scarcities - all things that left an indelible impression in your mind and now mine.  It's strange not to be cooking your meals or setting up your meds, doctor appointments and the low vision group meetings, I'm totally out of my routine.
For your 68th wedding anniversary this year we plan to gather on the Chesapeake to give you and the Old Man a proper send-off.  May the currents of the oceans take you to distant and exciting new places.  Let the Old Man show you around the Middle East and some of his old stomping grounds.  It was a real pleasure to have known your acquaintance and thanks for letting me marry your daughter.

I'll remember grandmom for her softly singing, playing cards and most of all the whole host of detailed stories she would tell of her travels. My fondest memories with grandmom are spending time down at the Pointe' during the summers and holidays. She always had something planned, whether it was a trip to the Havre de Grace Lighthouse or antiquing. I am sure grandmom and pop-pop are resting peacefully in the afterlife, floating down the Chesapeake Bay.

My mother,Gloria,was a very unique individual who was blessed with various talents. Not only a straight''A'' student during her school years,she was usually the lead in many high school plays and later in the local theater group''The Barnstormers'' in her local town. She would always be singing at home,in the car,and later,to my three daughters. She was such a good grandmother to our children,and I never felt closer than we did in their childhood,relating as mother to mother. We especially enjoyed boating on the Chesapeake Bay,visiting places such as Annapolis,Baltimore Harbor,St.Michaels, and many nights just anchoring out in coves,loving the sunrises and sunsets.

My mother's health in recent years had started to decline.Worsening kidneys.failing eyesight, and diabetes began taking their toll.Her doctors were constantly impressed with her spunk and determination to keep up the good fight. Gloria,in her later years,became a substitute teacher for the Maryland School District,and I know she loved that job most of all.She worked well into her seventies,and only stopped when her eyesight began to diminish.I am glad that she,and my dad,got to spend their last years with us here,in Marblehead. They both loved going to the nearby beach,my dad training his binoculars on the ships going in and out of Boston Harbor,my mom enjoying her favorite ice cream from Lime Rickeys,the little cafe on the beach. 

I can only hope that she is now reunited with my dad and Ashley,and that someday we can all join them.

I have a lot of fond memories of my grandmother from when I was little: singing me to sleep, playing cards, baking cookies, eating her chicken and dumplings and hiding potatoes and onions around her house while she was trying to cook with them. She always had a story to tell and maraschino cherries and hard boiled eggs in her fridge.  I will miss her presence, and I hope she is resting peacefully somewhere with my grandfather.

Dear Laura, Paul and family; My deepest condolences and prayers go out to you  now and always. Gloria was such a wonderful mother and grandmother. She so loved her family and smiled when speaking of everyone with such great  admiration. As she now rest in peace, I pray your family can find peace within also.
