MARBLEHEAD- James Robert Harris, 75, a longtime resident of Marblehead, passed away on March 14th at Salem Hospital. James was the beloved husband of Annette (Beaulieu) Harris of Marblehead with whom he shared over 48 years of marriage.
Born in Salem, James was the son of the late Robert Tyler Harris and Mary (Cook) Harris. Jim attended Marblehead schools and graduated from Marblehead High School with the Class of 1962. He also earned an Associate’s degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology. He served in the US Army in Vietnam and worked as a machinist at GE for over 25 years. Later he worked at Weir Valves and Controls in Salem then Ipswich for 12 years until his retirement. Jim enjoyed duck hunting, fishing and boating in the New Hampshire Lakes region with his family.
He was the devoted father of Scott Harris and his wife, Heidi of Silver Springs, MD; the cherished grandfather of Brandon and Anna Rose; the dear brother of William Harris and his companion, Karen of Seekonk; the adoring nephew of Jeannette Hall of Ipswich, Carol Beaulieu of Beverly, and Lucille Beaulieu of Florida. He is also survived by several cousins.
