

Joan (Whetton) Russell, of Marblehead, MA, formerly of Needham, MA, and Sarasota, FL, passed away on October 29, 2011. She was the beloved wife of Donald F. Russell with whom she shared ten years of marriage. Born in Natick, MA she was the daughter of the late Frederick A. and Elizabeth (Darling) Whetton. She was the devoted mother of James F. Baker of Portsmouth, NH, David Ross Baker and his wife Ruthann Cordes of Salem, MA, and Laurence N. Baker and his wife Warrenetta of Bethesda, MD; the loving grandmother of Samuel C. Baker, Calvin C. and Henry C. Baker, Christopher and Bailey Fries, Allison and Elizabeth Knowles, and Corey, Abigail, and Tucker Guen. She is also survived by her two step daughters, Deborah Morrison and her husband Alan of Glenside, PA, and Kristina Fries of Manchester, VT; her niece Lissa Barnes and her husband Brian and family; and cousin Paul Whetton and his wife Joan and family of No. Conway, NH. She was sister of the late Frederica Clark. Funeral services for Joan will be private.
