At his studio in Clifton, New Jersey, he was an artist and taxidermist to the museum of Natural History in New York City and the Vanderbilt Museum in Long Island.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Deitz of Marblehead; and two sisters, Mrs. Esther Belott and Mrs. Marion Basile, both of West Orange, New Jersey.
Funeral services for Mr. Deitz will be private. Arrangements by the Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home, Marblehead. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty Street, Danvers, MA 01923.
