Yvonne (Biselx) DeCotis, 88, a life-long resident of Marblehead, died peacefully, Monday, September 3, 2018 at the Jeffrey and Susan Brudnick Center in Peabody, following a lengthy illness. She left this world close to many friends and family members, who will sorely miss her.
Born in Boston, MA on April 30, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Adrian Biselx of Switzerland and Edith (Forsell) Biselx of Sweden.
Yvonne graduated from Salem High School class of 1948, and later in life achieved a degree from North Shore Community College. She was employed for many years by the Raytheon Corporation.
Yvonne is survived by her son Michael and daughter-in-law Patricia DeCotis, grandchildren, Tyler DeCotis, Katherine and Suzanne Foley all from Marblehead. Yvonne was predeceased by her son Kevin and her ex-husband Michael.
Yvonne loved good food and socializing, enjoyed traveling and entertaining with family and friends, and had a wonderful smile and personality that could light up a room. She had a passion for antique auctions, red wine, and conversations with family and friends on her beloved porch.
Visiting hours will take place at Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home located at 142 Elm St., Marblehead, Wednesday September 12, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. Graveside service and burial will take place at Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations on behalf of the DeCotis family to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
