David Burns

He was born Sept. 22, 1944, in Chicago, to John F. and Norma A. (Barry) Burns. He married Erika Csencsics on Aug. 27, 1977, in Chicago.

He was a resident of Marengo for the past 23 years. He enjoyed working at Midwest Fence for more than 40 years, retiring in December 2010. He loved watching football, especially the Bears. He was passionate about cars and loved taking trips to Vegas.

He was the beloved husband of Erika; loving father of Susan (Matthew) Metzger, Stephen Burns, David Burns, Katherina "Kati" (Jason) Quirk and Jonathon "Jon" Burns; grandfather of 13; dear brother of Eileen (the late Howard) Vogel, the late John F. "Jack" (Nancy) Burns Jr., the late Evelyn (the late Jay) Osmon, the late Robert (Joan) Burns, Richard (Rosalie) Burns, the late Jerome Burns and Michael P. (Donna) Burns Sr.; and lifelong friend of Terry Connole, Don West and Tom Bell.

The visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy., Marengo. A service will be at 7 p.m. Interment will be private.
