Dennis Morton

Dennis P. Morton, 65, of Marengo died Thursday, January 9, 2014 at home. He was born December 16, 1948 in Elgin to Earl W. and Frances M. Morton. He married Patricia Ball on August 12, 1967 in Hampshire. He was a kindhearted, generous, and unselfish man. Denny enjoyed woodworking and building things, he could make anything out of nothing. His greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He would often take the kids (and more recently the grandkids) for a scenic drive through the countryside, always including a stop for ice cream somewhere along the way.

He is survived by his wife Pat; children Carrie (Mark) Nowicki, Sarah Morton, Tobias (Megan) Morton; grandchildren Clara, Mabel and Evelyn Nowicki; sister Patricia (Patrick) Kiely. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Don, Neil, Jim and Keith Morton.

A visitation at 1:00 pm and memorial service at 2:00 pm will be held on Saturday, Jan. 18 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 5105 N. Union Rd. (Union Rd & Rt 176) Union. A reception will follow at Deicke Park Community Room, directly off Rt 47, Huntley, IL.
