Edwin H. “Bill” Randall, 91, of Marengo died Saturday November 6, 2010 at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford. He was born January 6, 1919, in LaClede, Illinois to Clarence C. and Flora (Weaver) Randall. He graduated from Farina High School class of 1936. He served in both the US Navy and the US Army during WWII. On March 21, 1969, he married Gertrude Lynn at Zion Lutheran Church in Marengo. He enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and bird watching. He and Gertrude own and operate a horse farm, Lyran Thoroughbreds.
He is survived by his wife Gertrude; children Edwin, Enid Grimm, Clarence, Gary, Bruce (Donna), Eva (Homer) Krauss, Sandra (Todd) Reinhard; 15 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters Cora Vincent, Eva Humes, Clella Temple, Cleo Schussler, and Enid Robertson.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service at 12:00 on Friday November 12th at Marengo-Union Funeral Home, 505 E. Grant Hwy Marengo. Interment will be in Windridge Memorial Park, Cary, IL.
