She was born September 1, 1922 in Shelby, Michigan to Lewis and Electa Gowell. On October 29, 1966 she married Gerald E. Guse.
Verna loved fishing and gardening. She also enjoyed cooking and baking. She was also known to enjoy a day of shopping, or simply having a cup of good coffee with her daughter and crafting. She was also a Chicago Bulls fan.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald; her children, Larry Morse, Gordon (Kathy) Morse, Sharon Cochran, William (Cathy) Morse, and Robert (Sue) Morse; her grandchildren, NiCole, Larry Jr., Ty, Kristy, Lorraine, Shelby, Sherry, Chad, and Michelle; her 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Jim (Phyllis) Gowell.
A memorial service will be held at 11am on Friday, August 23 at the First Baptist Church of Marengo, 320 E. Washington St., Marengo.
