Arnold Edward Townsend

Ed was born in Atlanta, GA., to the late Arnold Edward Townsend Sr., and Anna Upshaw Townsend. He was married to love of his life, Carla Annette Townsend for 61 years, and together they raised two boys. Ed enjoyed many things in life but he had a special place in his heart for baseball, a love he passed down throughout his family. He played actively on teams well up into his seventies, playing with the Smyrna Senior League. Ed also loved the water, a true Navel man at heart, from the lake to the ocean, he even worked as a lifeguard during the summers on Lake Laurel when he was younger.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Annette Townsend; son, Bradley Stephen Townsend; and brother Bobby Joe Townsend.

Ed is survived by his son, Carl Edward Townsend; grandchildren, Laura Anne (Greg) Christopher, Jake (Ashlee) Townsend, Jeremy (Summer) Price, and Amanda (Nathan) Fishback; great grandchildren, Trey Christopher, Kinsley Christopher, Aimee Townsend, Kaylei, Rhyen, Xander, and Kopelynn. He also leaves behind a daughter-in-law, Donna Townsend, and brother-in-law Harry (Patricia) Winters.

The family will receive friends and family for a visitation on Tuesday, March 28th, 2023 from 4:00 – 8:00PM at White Columns Chapel & Cremation. Funeral Services will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, March 29th, 2023 at 11:00am followed by burial at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery.
