Mary Rohner Richards

Mary Rohner Richards, age 97, of Marietta, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Harry B. Richards and her daughter, Cynthia Richards Ford. She is survived by her daughter, Clairevon R. Nixon (George); five grandchildren, Henry Jerome Ford Jr. “J.J.” (Ericka), Rachel Forward Frick (John), Erin Forward Crouch (Kevin), Alexis Pearle Nixon, and Martin George Nixon II; two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Lucas Crouch; and several nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Marietta, Georgia, Mary graduated from Marietta High School in 1945. She lived a life defined by kindness, integrity, and deep devotion to her family, faith, and community. Mary generously gave her time through more than 25 years of volunteer service with North Fulton Community Charity. She also faithfully taught Sunday school at two different churches for over 25 years. In her professional life, Mary completed clinical work at Holeproof Hosiery Company and later with Harper & Row, where she worked for many years. A smart and capable businesswoman, Mary was known for her many talents and interests. She loved cooking and treasured time spent with family and friends. An avid reader and lifelong learner, she was also an excellent seamstress and took great pride in her beautiful candy wreath designs. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Marietta. Reception will be held immediately following the service. The family will attend a private burial at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery. Mary felt especially fortunate for her wonderful neighbors and was deeply grateful to her church, family, friends, and neighbors who checked on her, provided companionship, and helped take her where she needed to go. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for her unwavering love for her family and the joy she brought to every life she touched.
