Nancy Marie Puffe, of Smyrna GA passed away peacefully on October 1, 2020 with her children by her side. Nancy had a sincere love for everyone and anyone who knew her, loved her in return. Her laugh was contagious; her fun-loving spirit was refreshing; her kindness and generosity were boundless. She will be greatly missed.
Nancy was born on July 25, 1941 in Hartford, CT. She grew up in Hartford and married Forster Puffe there in 1963. Following a brief period in Minnesota, Nancy and her husband moved to Smyrna, GA in February 1967.
The two most important things in Nancy’s life were the Catholic church and her family. Nancy had a lifelong love for and devotion to the Catholic church and was a founding parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Smyrna, GA. She always felt such joy from contributing to the church and the relationships formed there. Nancy also had a deep love for her entire family – from her grandparents on down to her grandchildren. Nothing made her more happy than getting to spend time with her family.
Nancy was also very entrepreneurial during her adult life. In the late 1970s she turned her lifelong love for arts and craft into a business in Smyrna called Just For You. She then worked for Sands & Co selling vending and food services until the early 1980s, when Nancy started her own vending service business. She sold that business in the late 1980s and shifted her career to selling residential real estate for First Town Realty, Northside Realty, and finally Coldwell Banker. Nancy found great success in real estate where she could leverage her outgoing personality, her genuine concern for the families she helped, and her strong network in Cobb County.
Nancy is survived by her daughter Sharon Puffe of Smyrna, her son Michael Puffe and daughter-in-law Carolynn Puffe of Kennesaw; grandchildren Nicole and Jordan Abney of Smyrna and Alex and Mallory Puffe of Kennesaw; two sisters Judy Knox and her husband George of Andover, CT and Laura Prasnal and her husband Andy of Holbrook, MA; brother Peter Holzmeister and his wife Debi Black of Reno NV; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Mary (Brady) Holzmeister.
The family will receive visitors Monday October 5, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Carmichael Funeral Home in Smyrna. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 6 at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Smyrna followed by a private burial.
