Nellie Louise Hicks

Nellie Louise Hicks, age 85 of Powder Springs, Georgia, passed away November 28, 2017. Funeral Services will be held at 3 pm on Friday, December 1 at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Macland Chapel in Powder Springs with Pastor Tom Compton officiating. Burial will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park, Marietta.

Louise was born in Griffin, Georgia and married John A. Hicks, Jr. on June 19, 1953. Together they raised two daughters and celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary this year. Louise was a master cosmetologist and hairdresser. She enjoyed fishing, painting and spending time with her family. She was an Emeritus member of the Eastern Star, Dallas, Georgia Chapter.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Robbi Hicks Wylie; siblings: Jack Ware, Frank Ware and Geraldine Smith. Louise is survived by her loving husband, John Aaron Hicks, Jr; daughter, Sherri Hicks Moore; sister, Jean Moore and Meme to 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 pm until 7 pm at funeral home. Mayes Ward-Dobbins Macland Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. www.mayeswarddobbins.com
