Richard Lee Newton, 89 of Dallas, Georgia passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 24th at Mayes Ward Dobbins, Powder Springs Chapel. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Carolyn A. Newton; daughter, Deborah Peal (Gerald); son, Timothy Newton (Crystal); 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Richard was born in Marietta and worked 45 years with Lockheed before retiring as a flight test supervisor. He was a charter member of Morning View Baptist Church and has been ordained as a deacon over 50 years. His love for music led him to serve as choir director for over 25 years.
