Robert Woody was a lifelong resident of Cobb County. From a young age, he amazed both family members and friends alike with his ability to focus on his goals in life. He received his barber’s license in 1947 from Atlanta’s Moler Barber College. He eventually became so successful that he opened his own shop on Cherokee Street in Marietta where for over fifty years he both cut the hair and tickled the funny bone of innumerable customers. Away from the Barber shop he also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. As successful as he was as a local businessman and entrepreneur, he was always most proud of his role as a husband and father.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Woody of Kennesaw; one daughter, Nancy Dodd of Marietta; two sons, Robert W. Woody and his wife, Angela of Waleska, Eddy Woody and his wife, Jan of Waleska; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Burial arrangements under the direction of Kennesaw Memorial Park.
