Ronald Lynn Gibson

January 16, 1941 – December 27, 2012

Ronald "R.L." Lynn Gibson, 71, of Acworth, GA died Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Kennestone Hospital due to injuries resulting from a car accident on December 20, 2012. Funeral services will be held Thursday January 3, 2013 at 11:00 am at Winkenhofer Funeral Home in Kennesaw, GA.

Born January 16, 1941 in Big Stone Gap, VA was the eldest son of Maynard Gibson (deceased) and Emma Horton Gibson (Cartersville, GA).

A veteran of the U.S. Army, Gibson was preceded in death by this brother Darryl Horton Gibson. He is survived by his mother, Emma Horton Gibson of Cartersville, GA, half brother Christopher Warren Gibson of Kingsport, TN, daughter Rachel Lynette Gibson and grandson Oscar Franklin Ives, both residing in Gatlinburg, TN.

A member of First Baptist of Atlanta, Gibson retired from Lockheed, GA as an assemblyman and was devoted to God and the care of his beloved mother, Emma.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-9pm at the funeral home.
