

Shao Yao Hsia M.D., a resident of John’s Creek, deceased on April 18, 2014 at Emory John’s Creek Hospital. Dr. Hsia was born on April 9, 1914 in Hunan, China. Dr. Hsia received his education from China’s National Defense Medical College in Nanjing, China and the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in North Carolina, United States. In 1946, Dr. Hsia happily married his wife, Ms. Feng Wang, whom he met in Beijing, China. Together, they had four children together. Dr. Hsia lived a very long, healthy, and successful life until the age of 100 years old which allowed for many accomplishments. His medical training and education allowed him to care for the wounded in the Second Sino-Japanese War, help establish medical schools and Hospitals in Taiwan, and provide guidance for his children and grandchildren on the importance of an education and the desire to care for other people. His friends and family regard him as a very honest and caring person who devoted his life to helping others. As a reflection of his wonderful life, Dr. Hsia has left behind many children and is survived by: Peter H. Hsia and Chiu Hsia, Shin Hsia, Fang Hsia Lai and Shuh Yih Lai, and Yang Hsia. He was pre-deceased by his loving wife, Mrs. Hsia, who he deeply missed and is now reunited. He also has many grandchildren: Michael and Priscilla Hsia, Wendy Hsia Yuan and Aaron Yuan, Chris and Nirvana Chapman, Thomas Chapman, and Joseph Lai and great grandchildren: Bennett Chapman and Watson Chapman.
The funeral service for Dr. Hsia will be held at 11AM, Saturday, April 26th in the Chapel of Carmichael Funeral Home, 1130 Whitlock Avenue, NW, Marietta, GA 30064 (770) 424-4924 with Pastor Jing Chang officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10AM - 11AM, Saturday, April 26th at the Funeral Home.
