Teresa was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Ross Sr., and her sons, Russell V. Ross and William E. Ross. She leaves behind a son Jimmie, his wife Sheila of Woodstock; a daughter Martha, her husband Dan Futral of Marietta; and a son David his wife, Julie of Marietta; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren of whom she loved and adored.
Teresa was born in Parral, Chihuahua Mexico July 5, 1930, where she lived on her family farm with her 5 siblings. Her family moved to Juarez, Mexico, where she found a job working at the PX at Fort Bliss Army Base in El Paso, Texas. As a young adult, Teresa became a U.S. citizen. While working at the PX, Teresa met the love of her life, a South Georgia boy, James Ross and were married 54 years before his passing. James was serving in the U.S. Army when they met and over the next 28 years of military service they managed to raise 5 kids while moving base to base. After James’ retirement from the military, Teresa and James worked hard as he took over his family’s business. Later in life, she enjoyed quilting, joining the Quilters Guild. Teresa was an avid gardener, with a green thumb, being a key member of Ross Memorial’s Garden Club. She loved cooking, specializing in authentic Mexican meals, ensuring that anyone who came to her house was well fed. Teresa was so loved just as she loved, and will be greatly missed. Knowing that she was greeted into heaven with a great assembly of loved ones comforts us all, as do all the prayers lifted up.
