William Douglas Raines Jr.

William “Bill” Douglas Raines Jr., aged 65, passed away on July 18, 2025. He was born on July 18, 1960, in Hollywood, FL, to William and Shirley Raines. Bill married the love of his life, Yvonne, on May 23, 1987. They had two daughters who meant the world to him. Bill was larger than life and encouraged every person he encountered. He loved to teach Sunday School and was an active member in his church, Woodstock Church Jasper. He enjoyed attending Braves games and watching his Florida Gators play.

Bill is survived by his wife of 38 years-Yvonne Raines of Kennesaw, and two daughters, Lauren Raines of Kennesaw and Morgan Raines of Lakeland, FL. He is also survived by his mother- Shirley Raines of Acworth, brother- Keith Raines of Acworth, and sister- Shirley Ann Raines of Emerson.

Funeral service will be 1 PM Wednesday, July 23, 2025 in the Chapel of Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta with Rev. Eddie Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta.
