Alene Ray Ray Hopkins

Alene Ray Hopkins, 76, of 111 Big Jane Street in Martinsville, died Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville. She was born in Pulaski, VA on June 14, 1934 to Leonard Ray and Nellie Draper Ray Worrell, both deceased. She retired from Bassett-Walker Knitting and was a member of Rich Acres Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Philpott; two brothers, Joseph and Sherman Ray.

She is survived by her husband, Letcher Lee Hopkins, Jr.; a sister, Patsy Hendricks of Spencer; a brother, Robert E. Ray of Martinsville and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 3, 2010 at 2:00 P.M.at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Homes, Martinsville Chapel with the Rev. Gary Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at Collins-McKee-Stone, Martinsville Chapel.
