Annie "Ruth" Moxley Wilson

Annie “Ruth” Moxley Wilson, 96, of Axton, Va., was surrounded by her family when she went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, January 16, 2018. Ruth was born on September 9, 1921, to the late James Samuel Moxley and Ethel C. Powell Moxley. Ruth was also preceded in death by her husband, Herbert C. Wilson and son, Arnold Wilson. Ruth was a member of the Mt. Calvary Church for 66 years where she served in many capacities. She was an avid Bible reader, having completed her 150th time of reading the bible through just before her death. She was loved by many and left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Ruth is survived by her son, Robert (Betty) Wilson; three daughters, Carolyn (Woody) Berry of Charlottesville, VA., Arlene (Eddie) Bray and Wanda Minter of Axton; 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Mount Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church and officiated by Reverend Kenny Gunn and Reverend Steve Tatum. Burial will be at Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Mount Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mount Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church Building Fund, 350 A.L. Philpott Highway, Axton, VA. or to the Axton Life Saving Crew, 1200 A.L. Philpott Highway, Axton VA
