Barbara F. Fleming Henderson

Barbara F. Henderson, 79, of Mulberry Road in Martinsville, died Monday, July 5, 2010 at her residence. She was born in Rockingham County, NC, on April 1, 1931, to Thomas B. Fleming and Mattie Sink Fleming. She was a 1949 graduate of Martinsville High School and retired from Lester Corporation where she was a secretary. Later she was employed by J. A. Gustin and Associates.

Barbara was a member of Starling Avenue Baptist Church and the Grace Taylor Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Tuesday and Thursday Bridge Clubs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas T. Henderson; a sister, Betty Wellman; and a granddaughter, Jennifer Leah Hodges.

Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth Gayle Barker of Martinsville, Margaret Lynn Hodges of Eden, NC; one son, Douglas Stephen Henderson of Stuart; one sister, Peggy Privette of Ridgeway and one grandson.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 8, 2010, at 11:00 am at Roselawn Burial Park with Dr. David Adkins officiating.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Homes, Martinsville Chapel.
