In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clay E. McDaniel; daughter, Janice McDaniel Huppert; brothers, A.L. “Bill” Paschall, Jr. and Lesse Paschall.
She is survived by her daughter, Ramona McDaniel; granddaughters, Sharon Huppert Hewitt (Chris) and Stephanie Huppert Hige (Craig); great grandchildren, Abigail Hewitt, Colin Hewitt, Maya Hige and Graham Hige; sisters, Velma Paschall Collins and Maudine Paschall Lovelace; son-in-law Steve Huppert; many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bernice was a very giving and loving Christian lady to all of her family and friends. Whenever someone needed help, she would be there for them. She was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church in Axton, Va. She worked at the Martinsville Hardware Supply store and later retired from Tultex Outlet where she was the assistant manager.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, September 19, 2025, at Roselawn Burial Park and will be officiated by Pastor Wayne Rigney.
