Betty Jean Powell Whitlow

Betty Jean Powell Whitlow, 72, of Spencer, Va. passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2021. She was born in Henry County January 22, 1949 to Thomas Burton Powell and Gladys Wells Powell.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Curtis Whitlow.
She is survived by her son, John Whitlow (Jaime); grandsons, Mason and Eli Whitlow; granddaughter Caroline Whitlow; brothers, Thomas Powell Jr. and Louis Powell; sisters, Ruth McLain, Glenda Taylor and Sharon Powell; also numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Whitlow loved her family and especially enjoyed the times she spent with her son and his family.
She retired from Dupont.
A walk through visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at McKee-Stone Funeral Home. The family will not be present for the visitation. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at Roselawn Burial Park with Reverend Gary Hughes officiating.
