

Ella Tuck Frith, 79, of 1409 Whittle Road in Martinsville, died Saturday, February 19, 2011. She was born in Durham, NC on March 5, 1931 to Emmett Apple Tuck and Pauline Waller Tuck. She was a 1952 graduate of The College of William and Mary. After teaching school in Culpeper, Franklin and Roanoke, she came to Martinsville where she taught fifth grade for several years at Druid Hills Elementary School. Mrs. Frith was a member of First Baptist Church of Martinsville and was an avid gardener and reader for many years.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn T. Sechriest.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Douglas Kyle Frith of the residence, two daughters, Margaret Frith Ringers of Tallahassee, FL and Susan Elaine Frith of Orlando, FL; four grandchildren: Madeline and Kyle Ringers, and Sarah and Alison Walker; two brothers, Emmett A. Tuck, Jr. of Virgilina, VA and Weldon W. Tuck of Laramie, WY, as well as several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church of Martinsville with Dr. Dennis Knight, Pastor and Rev. John Fulcher, Associate Pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4:00 to 5:30 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Martinsville and other times at the residence on Whittle Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer ’s disease Research, Attention: Memorial Gifts, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD 20871.
