
Ethel Clement Minter, 89, of Mount Olivet Road in Martinsville, died Monday, April 11, 2011 at her residence. She was born in Patrick County on August 18, 1921 to Charlie and Nancy Matthews Clement. She retired from Piedmont Trust Bank (now BB&T) where she had worked for more than 20 years. She was a member of Chatham Heights Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton R. “Sam” Minter; two sisters, Hazel Nunn and Olive Lawrence; two brothers, Robert Clement and Tommy Clement.
She is survived by a daughter, Pat Jones of Martinsville; a son, Charles “Chuck” Minter of Martinsville; one sister, Betty Sue Joyce of Johnson City, TN and one brother, Charles Clement of Ararat, VA; two grandchildren, Amy Jones of Richmond, Clif Jones of Collinsville and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 14, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Martinsville Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Michael Hatfield officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Collins-McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville.
