In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Susan A. Kirks; daughters, Rebekah Kirks and her fiancé Brandon Vernon, Bethany Mitchell and her husband Corey; and sister, Kathy Scott.
Mr. Kirks was a 1975 graduate of Drewry Mason High School and was a machinist at Martinsville Machine Works. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Ridgeway.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 26, 2016 at McKee Stone Funeral Home with Dr. Dennis Wingate officiating. Burial will be at Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 25, 2016 at McKee Stone Funeral Home.
