

Harry Wayne Oakes, II, 29, of Martinsville, died Sunday, September 28, 2014, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville. He was born July 9, 1985 in Martinsville, the son of Harry W. Oakes and Rebecca Isley Oakes of Martinsville. He was a graduate of Martinsville High School and was a supervisor at Faneuil, Inc. Harry was a lifetime member of Woodland Heights Free Will Baptist Church, a member of the Broken Glass Band and the Gospel Strings, and was an active participant in Hogs for Dogs, which is a SPCA Fundraiser.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Curtis and Alma Isley; grandmother, Elsie Hardy Walker, and aunt, Susan Isley Williard.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sisters, Sarah Foley Robertson of Martinsville and Janey Shadel Critchley of Big Island, his grandfather, Eugene “Papa” Walker of Martinsville, uncles, C. Willard Isley of New York and David T. Oakes of Evington, VA; his aunt, Julia Isley Catoe and husband, Gregory of Pageland, SC, his aunt, Margaret Isley Wimmer and husband, Bill of Bassett and his aunt, Annette Walker Cyr and husband, Robert of Royal Oak, MI, his niece, Kristen Diane Robertson, his nephew, Cameron Daniel Robertson, and his niece, Amanda Lee Critchley.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 2, 2014, at 1:00 PM at McKee-Stone Funeral Home with Pastor Stanley Waddell officiating. The interment will follow at Roselawn Burial Park.
