Joyce Cook Young

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her husband Jimmy G. Young; Brother Charles Wayne Cook; Aunt Mrs. Faye Branson and infant nephew Phillip Neil Cook.

Surviving are her daughter, Jessica Young Nigh and her husband Bryan; granddaughter, Madelynn Olivia Nigh; sister Sue Cook Scott and her husband Tom of Brandon , FL.; sister-in-law Thelma R. Young of Martinsville; brother-in-law Larry L. Young and wife Doris of King N.C.; several Nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Young received her Bachelor and Master Degrees in Education from Radford University. She was school teacher for thirty-five years, twenty-five of which were in the Martinsville and Henry County School Systems.

The funeral will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 2:00 PM at McKee-Stone Chapel with Pastor Jim Wilson officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at McKee-Stone Chapel. Burial will follow the funeral at Roselawn Burial Park.
