Mary Ruth Pearia, 84, formerly of Norfolk, VA, passed away on June 8, 2013, in Pelham, NC. Born September 12, 1928, in Albany, IN, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Peter Hoffsetz and Flossie Richardson Hoffsetz. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Pearia, Sr., and her four brothers, Robert, Eugene, Bill, and Thomas Hoffsetz.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon Griffiths and husband Gerald of Foristell, MO, and Theresa Asher and husband James of Pelham, NC, and two sons, Edward J. Pearia, Jr. and wife Sandra of Chesapeake, VA, and Ronald L. Pearia and wife Suzanne of St. Joseph, MO. She will also be lovingly remembered by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other family members and friends.
A private memorial service will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, June 22, 2013, at McKee-Stone Funeral Home in Martinsville, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mary Ruth's name to either the American Lung Association or the American Cancer Society.
