Ramona Cecil Cassady

Ramona Dare Cecil Cassady, 81, of Spencer, VA, passed away Friday, October 18, 2024 at her residence, surrounded by her family. She was born in Martinsville, Va, September 7, 1943, to Kelly Lee Cecil and Doris Cooper Cecil. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Kelly Dale Cecil.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Junior Cassady; two daughters, Karen C. Kendrick (Jimmy) and Marla C. Perry (Jon); grandchildren, Cassady K. Burton (Heath), William Kendrick (Hannah), Erin P. Hudson (Zach), Andy Perry and Asher Perry; great-grandchildren, Olive Kendrick and Bennett Burton; two sisters, Janice C. Wyatt (Carl) and Rose C. Howell; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Cecil Joyce (Gerald). Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, along with a host of

cousins and friends.

Ramona was a long-time and devoted member of Stella Christian Church. She and Junior came from musical families and loved sharing their musical gifts throughout their entire marriage.

During her early years, she was employed by Fieldcrest Mills where she worked in data-processing and later operated Mayo River Texaco in Spencer Va. with her husband, Junior, where she came to know so many people, far and wide. She finished her working career as a floral designer.

A visitation will be held Sunday from 5 PM to 7 PM at Stella Christian Church, 1535 Stella Road, Patrick Springs, VA 24133. The funeral service will be held on Monday, Oct. 21st at 11:00 AM at the church with William Kendrick and Pastor Steve Hayes officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
