Obituary of Roberta M Brinegar
Roberta McMillan Brinegar, 87, of Spencer, VA died Saturday, November 17, 2018, at her home. She was born on September 10, 1931, in Axton, VA to the late Archer P. and Mollie Jo McMillan. In addition to her parents, Roberta was preceded in death by her first husband Lee Agee, and her sister and brother-in-law Jean and Dan Wilson. She is survived by her husband Charles W. Brinegar of 65 years of the home; two sons Mike Agee (Karen) and Steve Brinegar (Pam); four grandchildren Patrick Agee (Michelle), Brian Brinegar (Stephanie), Stephanie Vipperman (Jason), and Susanne Washburn (Joe); nine great-grandchildren Robbie, Benjamin, and James Agee, Zariah Scales, Bristol Brinegar, Kendra and Kipton Vipperman, and Bryant and Brinden Washburn. Roberta and her husband Charles were faithful members of Mayo Baptist Church. Roberta worked at Dupont for 2 years and 32 years as a Henry County bus driver. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her cat, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved the sight of beautiful yards, flowers, birds, and clean cars. She graduated from Axton High School in 1948. The family wishes to express appreciation to the caregivers, Mountain Valley Hospice, Dr. Ben Lewis, CCU staff and Sovah Hospital, pastors, family and friends who shared their love, food, cards, and concern of Roberta. The family will receive friends, Monday, November 19, 2018, from 1:00-3:00 pm prior to the service at 3:00pm at Mayo Baptist Church, Spencer, and at various times at her home 4796 George Taylor Road, Spencer. Pallbearers will be: Brian, Bill, Tyler and Austin Brinegar, Wayne Taylor, Josh Baker, Joe Washburn, Jason Vipperman, Patrick and Robbie Agee, and Bryant Washburn. Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandchildren Zariah Scales, Bristol Brinegar, Kendra and Kipton Vipperman, Brinden Washburn, and Benjamin and James Agee. Memorial donations may be made to Mayo Baptist Church, 85 Penn Store Rd, Spencer, Mountain Valley Hospice, Stuart, or any charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are by McKee-Stone Funeral Home.
