Alvaretta "Jo" E. Piper

Mason, MI

Age 93, died May 26, 2014; born March 26, 1921 to Louis and Furlena (Cottrell) Bollenbacher. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Fredrick Piper; brothers, Harley, Charles and sister, Chloe. Alvaretta is survived by her sons, Jeff (Audrey) Piper, Scott (Rose) Piper; 4 grandchildren, Brandy, Scott, Melissa, Tina (Damian); and 4 great grandchildren, soon to be 5. She loved cross stitching and crocheting and enjoyed playing the organ. She had worked in a motor winding factory during World War II. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason, MI with interment to follow at 2:00 P.M. at Restlawn Cemetery in Muskegon, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 29 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Ingham County Medical Care Facility, 3860 Dobie Rd., Okemos, MI 48864 and Capital Area Humane Society, 7095 West Grand River Ave., Lansing, MI 48906.
