Chuck was always an innovator. He was the President and CEO of Innovative Control for 18 years, a company devoted to refrigeration control among other things. One of his innovations led to the top of his thumb being blown off while making fireworks as an adolescent, but he still loved the 4th of July and rockets. He also built a workout machine with negative resistance. Speaking of workouts, the man lived for lifting weights and fitness. He religiously talked fitness, set up a gym in all his home basements or more recently apartment dining room. He had workout buddies that would work out with him for most of his life. He was constantly wanting to “pump iron” and still was receiving Arnold Schwarzenegger newsletters up until the week before he died.
Chuck was very hard working, something he learned from his father, and was always looking for ways to contribute to society and the world of refrigeration control. The self proclaimed “nerd” would spend hours reconfiguring computers and other electronics. He loved his boat that he had in his 20s, loved to water ski and snow ski. He had several friendships from his college days at Central Michigan University that lasted his entire life.
Chuck was a family man who was married to Roxanne Miller for 24 years, and although divorced still loved his ex-wife’s family as his own. He had a great relationship with his now deceased father and considered him one of his best friends. He also loved his grandchildren and daughter. Chuck’s smile, laughter and innovation will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Chuck is survived by his daughter Lindsey (Nathan); grandchildren Sophia and Landon; sister Faith (Jay); niece Tiffany; and nephew Jake. He is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Faith and brothers Mike and Mark.
A celebration of life for Chuck will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at The Historic Chelsea Depot, 125 Jackson St., Chelsea, MI 48118. There will be a Sunday dinner served at the celebration.
