

Chuck graduated from Springport High School in 1956, he later attended Jackson Community College. He honorably served in the Army Reserve until his discharge in 1964. Chuck was employed by City Bank and Trust in Jackson for 30 years, retiring in 1994 as Vice President over Data Processing, Security Management and Facilities Management.
Over the years, Chuck enjoyed playing golf, bowling, skiing, playing euchre and low-stake poker with friends. He was an avid reader, having a unique interest in physics, mathematics and the arts. He enjoyed listening to music and had an extensive collection of recordings, especially in the jazz and classical genres. He and his wife, Janice, enjoyed traveling and had wonderful experiences traveling overseas in Kenya, Egypt, England, France, Italy, Ireland, Germany, Austria, China and the Czech Republic. Also, they traveled much of the U.S. mainland and vacationed often in Hawaii.
He will be missed by family and friends and will always be remembered for his kindness and big heart. He treated everyone with respect and dignity and was respected by all that knew him.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janice (Sporkia) Stitt, his son Keegan Stitt of Leslie, MI and grandson, Murphy Stitt of Leslie, MI. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews located across the country. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Marilyn Huizenga, Juanita Joyce Smith, Elenora Vincent, Richard Stitt, Robert Stitt and Ralph Stitt.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home Mason, MI with Pastor Ed Owens officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Hawley Cemetery, Mason.
