Fred Richard Kiefer, 82, of Flint, Michigan, passed away on February 9, 2024, in Lansing, Michigan. Born on February 11, 1941, in Flint, Fred was a beloved partner, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manford Harold Kiefer and Rose Irene Kiefer (Brown).
Fred had a distinguished career in the U.S. Army, where he proudly served his country. He exemplified the values of honor, courage, and commitment throughout his military service.
Following his military service, Fred dedicated his expertise as a mechanical engineer to Dart Container, where he made significant contributions throughout his career.
Fred is survived by his partner of 40 plus years, Sue Martin, his daughters Jody A. Byrne and Lori A. Byrne, his step-sons Craig Martin and Troy Martin, and his grandchildren Amanda Timbs, Kevin Donders, Dustin Kiefer, Tyler Kiefer, David A. Byrne, and Jason A. Byrne. He is also survived by four step-grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and five step great-grandchildren.
Fred Richard Kiefer will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his service to his country, and his esteemed career. His legacy will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to have known him.
