Joanne Marie Prater

Mason, Michigan

Age 65, died December 11, 2013; born March 6, 1948 to George and Elizabeth Preisinger. Joanne was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Family was most important to her. Her favorite time of the year was Christmas and the time shared with family. Joanne’s faith was important to her and she and her husband, Lonnie have been members of St. James Catholic Church for many years. Joanne will be missed by all who knew her and loved her. Joanne was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are her husband of 46 years, Lonnie; daughter, Kimberly (Michael) Clear; sons, Patrick (Rebecca) Prater, James Prater, Michael Prater, Peter Prater; 5 grandchildren, Abby, Jacob, Nicholas, Anna Marie, Margaux; brothers, George (Sarah) Preisinger, Gary Preisinger; sisters, Susan (Dennis) McMan, Sally Friedlund, and Joyce Preisinger. The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, December 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 1010 S. Lansing, Mason, MI with interment to follow at Hawley Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason, Michigan from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. There will also be visitation one hour prior to the service at the Church. Contributions in Joanne’s memory may be made to St. James Catholic Church.
