He was born on December 21, 1939, son of Kenneth and Wanda Brown. Ken graduated from Mason High School, became a skilled Mechanic, and later owned and operated two gas stations in a partnership. After that, he worked for the Ingham County Road Commission for 29 years, and once retired, began a lawn and snow removal business, which he operated for many years. His lawn was a testament to his perfectionism; the apple didn’t fall far from the tree, as his children inherited his zest for perfection. He loved sports, especially Michigan State and the Detroit Tigers. He also loved John Deere tractors, but most of all, spending time with friends, family, and his grand dogs, who thought of him as the Candy Man: never greeting them without treats.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Sandy Brown, daughter, Robin (Dave) Elias, daughter, Ann (late Dan) Carter, son, Kenny (Casey) Brown, granddaughters, Heather Elias, Megan (David) Clingersmith, Danielle (Lisa) Carter, Mackenzie (Ethan) Rennaker, and Julie (Mason) Rickle, Matt Brown, great grandchildren, Grayson and Breslin Clingersmith, Bowen Rennaker, and soon-to-arrive, Marvella Rickle; and brother, Robert Brown, as well as nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, and son-in-law.
