

Kenneth David McCurdy, 68, of Mason, Michigan, died Friday, May 1, 2015. He was born June 25, 1946 in Grayling, Michigan to William C. and Mary C. (Lester) McCurdy. Ken worked at Sparrow Hospital for 22 years and was a member of the Eden United Brethren Church. Ken enjoyed the outdoors, especially deer hunting, fishing, and camping. He lost his hearing at a young age and became involved in the deaf community where he enjoyed attending their social events. Ken had a great sense of humor; he was always looking for a laugh. He also loved spending time with his family. Ken could often be found “supervising” his son-in-law as they fixed cars. Ken will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Richard McCurdy.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 46 years, Vicki; daughters, Michelle McCurdy and Jennifer (Richard) Scott; son, Phillip McCurdy; grandchildren, Brenden, Collin, and Nathan; brother, William McCurdy; sister, Tena French, and Estella (Rodney) Atherton; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
A Memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Eden United Brethren Church, 1938 Eden Rd., Mason, MI 48854. The family will receive visitors 2 hours prior to the service at the church.
