Linda Morris Veresh

Linda Ann Morris Veresh died December 29, 2017 after a lengthy illness caused by ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). She was born in Eden, MI on September 20, 1940, the daughter of Mabel and Leslie Dana Morris. She graduated from Mason High School and Michigan State University.

While in high school, Linda won a contest in which more than 11,000 girls applied to be named Michigan’s Homemaker of Tomorrow. Her prize included a tuition scholarship to MSU and a trip for herself and her teacher to Washington, D.C. to compete for the national title.

After graduating from MSU with a master’s of science, Linda moved to Saginaw where she had a successful 40-year career at Dow Corning. She held a number of positions, from the medical labs to the patent law department. She was the public speaker most requested at Dow Corning.

Linda was a lovely person both inside and out and will be greatly missed by the family and friends she leaves behind. She is survived by son Dana, his wife Maria, and their daughter Sarah of Walled Lake; daughter Lesley Veresh of Milwaukee, WI; and sisters and brothers-in-law Marilyn and Eugene (Gil) Wanger and Shirley and Joseph Paris all of Lansing. Linda is also survived by many other nieces and nephews who will remember her fondly.

Linda was predeceased by her parents, a sister Eloise Terberg and her husband William of Long Beach, CA, and her brother Lloyd Morris and his wife Rita of Mason.

Not to be forgotten was Linda’s passion for sports; Spartans basketball, Detroit Tigers, and her beloved Detroit Red Wings, which she shared with her two children. She also delighted in travels to other countries often going with her friend Nancy Leckner, daughter Lesley, or her sister Shirley.

A special thank you goes out to her niece Cheryl Howe and husband Gary of Mason, sister Shirley and her daughter, Nancy Paris, and sister-in-law Lanette and husband Joseph Veresh of Portland for their help during this last illness.
