

Martin James Pollok of Mason, Michigan passed away on July 28, 2015 at the age of 92. He was born December 17, 1922 in Dansville, Michigan and spent his entire life in the Dansville-Mason area. He graduated from Dansville High School and attended Michigan State University. Martin worked for the Department of Natural Resources for 40 years managing the Mason State Game Farm. In the early years of his employment he propagated Canadian geese (he was quite successful) and in later years he ran the Put and Take Pheasant Program. He was well known throughout the Midwest for his expertise in game birds. Martin loved to hunt and fish and was a devoted father, coaching his children in softball. He won state championships in 4-H and men’s softball. Martin was married to his loving wife Donnis for 66 years. Both Martin and Donnis were loving and devoted parents and instilled the value of hard work in their children. It was difficult for Martin when his wonderful and devoted Donnis (Noxon) passed away in 2010. Both were deeply religious and now reside with their Lord and Savior in Heaven. Martin and Donnis leave behind 6 children: Joseph (Bonnie) Pollok, Linda (Larry) Dilday, Steven (Monique) Pollok, Joyce Rodriguez, Patricia (Jeff) Bowers, and Denise (Chuck) Every. They also leave behind many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Martin and Donnis will be missed but the memories will be cherished.
