Joann was a devoted Mother and housewife. She enjoyed going to the Sam Corey Senior Center in Holt, playing cards and reading. She especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren growing up and attending their school events and sports.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard G. Burgess; and brother, Gary D. Witt. Surviving are her one daughter, Karen Wall; 7 sons, Joseph, Ronald (Barbara), Edward (Susan), Douglas (Jeannie), Gordon, Scott (Barbra) and Neal (Leigh) Burgess; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Nancy (Ted) Miller, Janice (Jerry) Ried; brother-in-law, Dale (Edna) Burgess; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
