Michael Bruce “Meadow” Medlock, age 68, of Mason, MI found peace January 1, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Michael was born and raised in Lansing, MI. He attended Oak Park Elementary, Pattengill Jr. HS and Lansing Eastern HS, excelling in football and basketball, where he was elected President of the class of 1970. After high school, a football scholarship led him to the University of Tulsa. He returned to Lansing after college and began an over 35-year career at the United States Postal Service. Starting as a mail clerk, transferring to letter carrier, moving up to Supervisor and becoming Postmaster in Nov. 1987, serving first in Mason, MI. Later retiring as Postmaster in East Lansing, MI. in Oct. 2007. In his spare time Michael loved watching sports, playing softball, riding his bike, and coaching various youth sports. After retiring from the USPS, Michael devoted his time to his faith, graduating from Mt. Hope Bible Training Institute. He accepted the position of Biblical Counselor at Mt. Hope’ Gilead Healing Center. He loved fawning over his grandchildren, who referred to him as “The coolest guy in the world.” He and Hazel loved making time to travel with and for his children and grandchildren. They never missed their sporting events in or out of town or state! He lived his life, always finding the perfect balance of being the cool, fun Dad & Grandpa while also being an example of the highest integrity for his family. Michael was preceded in death by his father, Russell Mack Medlock in 2007. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Elaine Medlock; (nee Hulett) with whom he celebrated his 43rd Wedding Anniversary the day before his passing; Mother, Loulamae Wolfe, age 92; Sons, Michael Brodie (Jackie Minogue), MacKenzie Brooks (Patricia); Daughter, Ami Britt Daily; Sisters, Suzanne Ward, Lisa Roeser (Doug), Debra Miller (Tom); His 7 Grandchildren, twins, Logan & Morgan, Dylan, Conner, Avery, Ronan and Luca.
