Sandra was born to a farm family where she grew up in DeWitt, attending a country school before graduating from St. Johns High School in 1960. She attended LCC nursing school and became a LPN where she worked at St. Lawrence Hospital until Diane was born. She raised her two girls on a small farm in Holt, before taking a job at Holt Products on a bet. From there she worked as a lease operator with Mobil Oil Corporation that eventually took her to Oklahoma. She retired in 1997, and then became a bus driver for Mason Public Schools. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always had a great time wherever she went. Hunting, fishing, playing cards and baking were her passions. She participated in many church activities and crafting items to the exact precision. She will be forever missed by those in which her infectious smile touched.
Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Adeline (Moinet) Huhn; brother, Earl Huhn; sister, Georgia Vroman and her precious Dusty. Surviving are 2 daughters, Diane Whitney and Janice Jensen; grandchildren, Jeremy (Pamela) Whitney and Donnie (Brooke) Jensen; 5 great grandchildren, Novalee, Isaiah and Lance Whitney; Logan and Daniel Jensen; one brother, Carl (Joan) Huhn; also many friends and family.
The Funeral Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church, 1010 S. Lansing St., Mason with the Rev. Fr. Kusi Cobona officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 621 S. Jefferson St., Mason and one hour prior at the church.
