Sherry Lynn Finch

Sherry Lynn Finch, age 62, of Leslie, passed away Friday, January 7, 2022, at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. Left to cherish her memory are her four children: Loretta Finch, Virginia (Jacob) Robinson, Robin (Jamie) Derr, and Anthony Richard Finch; her eleven grandchildren: Brenna, Mikayla, Trinity, Jacob, Lily, James, Jaxson, Carlos, Remy, Axl (coming soon), and Anthony Wayne; her two siblings: Brenda (Merejildo) Mendoza, and Alan (Michelle) Ayers; her father, Richard Ayers; and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Sherry was born August 22, 1959, in Mason, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Richard and Ruth Ann (Warner) Ayers. When she was introduced to Anthony Wayne Finch through mutual friends, it was love at first sight! Sherry and Anthony began dating, fell in love, and were eventually married on January 15, 1987; sharing twenty wonderful years together until Anthony’s death on May 20, 2007. Throughout her adult life, Sherry worked as a machine operator at Manchester Plastics in Williamson for many years until her retirement.

In her free time, Sherry could always be found enjoying a bike ride or feeding the birds. Over the years, Sherry “adopted” many of the friends her children made over the years as her own. She was an incredibly generous woman, and always had an open door policy in her home. If anyone needed a place to stay or a warm meal, Sherry was the first to welcome them into her space. Most of all, Sherry cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren; especially Anthony Wayne, who she shared a very special bond with. They were best of friends. She was a wonderful woman who will be dearly missed.

Sherry was preceded in death by her loving husband, Anthony Wayne Finch; her mother, Ruth Ann Ayers; and her step-daughter, Tabitha Finch.

In accordance with Sherry’s wishes, cremation will take place. No public services have been scheduled.
