Shirley England, 82, of Mason, MI, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on February 26, 2025. She was born on July 18, 1942, in Battle Creek, MI to Lawrence and Catherine (Trick) Fletcher.
Shirley was a 1960 graduate of Eastern High School and was employed by the State of Michigan, retiring from Michigan State Police, Human Resources Division, in 2002 with 23 years of service.
Shirley married Bill England in 1961 and they shared 20 years together with 3 children, until Bill's sudden death in 1981.
In addition to her family, Shirley's christian faith was very important to her. She was an active member of a number of churches including Robbins UMC and Riverview Church. Shirley served in many capacities over the years including Sunday School Teacher, work committees, mission trips and most recently Side-by Side Ministries. She shared her faith and helped many people.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her dear sister Connie Sharp.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories, daughter Dawn (Warren) Davis, daughter Lisa (Kirk) Hunt, son Mark England, grandchildren Nicole (Drew) Schanski, Michelle (Jeremy) Beck, Lindsay Hunt (fiancee Corey Reed), Kirsten Hunt (Satchel Horton), Jenna Hunt (Connor Barthel), KaitLynn England, Blake, great grandchildren Emma, Brady, Taya, Gavin, nieces and nephews, and a dear friend Carol Johnson.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 14, 2025, at Riverview Church, 3585 E Willoughby Road, Holt, MI, beginning at 11:00 am, with a visitation to be held 1 hour prior to the service.
