Vic was born to Victor and Lillian Miller on February 16th, 1950 in Terre Haute with his parents, older sister Diana, and late brother Mitch. At 16 years old, he decided to leave traditional school and enter military school. Following military school he decided to enlist in the Army. After training at the Rough Rider Academy and receiving other specialized training for the 101st Airborne Division, he was shipped to Vietnam January 1970, but not before marrying his first love Bonnie.
After leaving the Army, he and Bonnie went on to enjoy life together and raise a family that included two daughters, Tammy and Julie. As life would have it, eventually he would marry a second time. Teresa became his last love and with her came an additional daughter Colleen.
Vic spent his life as a welder by trade. He could fabricate anything!! From hand tools for the garden to parts for heavy equipment, he could create it from nothing. Cold hard steel gained life in his hands as he would mold it to shape just as he did his family. He was always smiling that big smile, and his boisterous laugh was contagious and could light up a room. He was always there to lend a hand to help no matter the job. A true jack of all trades. There wasn't anything he couldn't fix, including broken hearts and spirits. A kind soul who gave as much of himself as he could regardless of the situation with no ask in return. You couldn't help but love him and everything he stood for.
His love of cars brought him to restore a 1966 Chevelle for himself alongside his Son-In-Law Scott. Vic also helped restore a 1967 El Camino with Scott that would be a gift to Colleen. Many hours of wrenching on cars, busted knuckles, lots of cussing lead to beautiful cars and memories that will last a lifetime. So many memories created under the hoods of cars and at car shows. Memories that will last forever.
He enjoyed watching his daughters grow into successful independent women, who raised families of their own. Every achievement that was made by his daughters and grandchildren made him so proud. Christmas', trips to the movies, racing Traxxas trucks, car shows, even just a family supper were all made extra special just because he was there. A truly unforgettable man in every way.
Vic is survived by daughters Tammy (Mark) Huffman, Julie (Mark Turnpaugh) Miller, Colleen (Scott) Turner; sister Diana Hody; and grandchildren Jon Miller, Austin Brown, Devin and Lindsey Wennersten, Ember Huffman, Taylor Turner, and a soon to be great grandson, Victor William Miller.
Family and Friends are invited to celebrate Vic's life and say their final 'Until Next Time's' at Gorsline-Runciman Funeral Home, 621 South Jefferson, Mason, MI 48854 on May 18th. Visitation begins at 10:00am with Memorial Services starting at 11:00am.
