
DICK FOO YEE, age 61, passed away on February 15, 2025 in San Francisco, CA. He was born on July 23, 1963 to Kuey and Shil Kum (nee Wong) Yee (both deceased) in Cleveland, OH. Dear brother of Gene Yee (Pauline), Marlene Jue, Lillian Dona (Anthony). Dear uncle of Michele Schrock (James Stief), Virginia Malinas (David), Michael Yee (Anastasia), Alexander Jue (Kaitlyn), Jacqueline Wagner (Charles), Gregory Dona (Atlee Van Saun), Stephanie Herold (John Paul). Dear great uncle of Ethan and Samantha Schrock, Sofia and Carson Malinas, Vesper and Trevor Yee, Oliver and Milo Jue, Penelope and Lucy Wagner, Romy Dona, Belle and Rose Herold. Dick had numerous professional certifications and was the principal trainer for UCSF Benioff Children’s Physicians in Emeryville, CA at the time of his death. His keen intellect and patient instructional manner helped many clients learn how to do medical claims processing for the past 20 years by following what he referred to as “the cookbook.” Dick was a graduate of Mayfield High School (class of 1981), where he was an active participant in the marching band and the drama club. He was a skilled trumpet player and had starring roles in the school’s performances of “Brigadoon” and “West Side Story.” Dick received a Bachelor of Science, Information Systems from The Ohio State University (1985) and then a Masters in Business Administration, Finance/Marketing Management from the UCLA Anderson School of Management (1991) Dick’s education and employment took him from Cleveland, OH to Columbus, OH to Atlanta, GA to New York, NY to Los Angeles, CA to San Jose, CA and ultimately to San Francisco, CA where he had been enjoying life as an urban city dweller. Dick enjoyed exploring the city by foot and took lengthy walks and hikes around the city. Dick was a gourmet and enjoyed cooking vegetarian dishes for friends and neighbors. Dick also was dedicated to serving the community and volunteered frequently at soup kitchens. Dick was a devoted brother, uncle, great uncle and friend to many. He remained close with high school friends, as well as friends from prior employment and former neighbors. Dick’s kind, gentle spirit, thoughtfulness and overall joie de vivre will be missed by all. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Dick’s name to the charity of your choice.
