Dorothy E. Shrewsbury (née Eagle), 93, of Concord, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on January 6, 2026. Born on February 11, 1932, in Widen, West Virginia, Dorothy lived a life defined by devotion—to her family, her hobbies, and the simple joys that made a house feel like home. A loving wife and devoted mother, she was affectionately known as “everyone’s grandma,” a title she earned through her warmth, attentiveness, and unwavering care for others. Dorothy also took great pride in her career as a bank bookkeeper, where she worked faithfully for many years. Dorothy found peace and happiness outdoors, especially in her garden and while birdwatching. She was a talented cook and baker who believed that love was best expressed through a full plate. Her cookies were legendary, traveling near and far—from local fire departments to the homes of friends and family across the country. More than anything, Dorothy cherished her family, holding a special place in her heart for her beloved and only son, John. She will be remembered for her tenderness, generosity, intellect, and quiet resilience. Dorothy is survived by her son, John Shrewsbury; her grandchildren, Brittany Shrewsbury and Brandon Shrewsbury; and her great-grandchildren, Samantha Sanchez and Cannon McDonald. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Shrewsbury; her parents, Ira Eagle and Bertie Dodrill Eagle; and her eleven siblings. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 11Th from 1 p.m. to 4p.m. at DiCicco & Sons Funeral Home in Mayfield. In honor of Dorothy’s memory, flowers may be sent to DiCicco & Sons Funeral Home.
A life well lived, and a love that endures.
